DR PULLEY HIT CLUTCH
Dr. Pulley HiT Clutch
-
The HiT clutch (High‑Thrust) is a performance clutch designed for CVT (automatic) scooters / small vehicles.
-
It uses a dual-spring system:
-
A clutch spring (centrifugal) that controls when the clutch initially engages.
-
A pillow (torque) spring plus a push-pin / wedge mechanism that gives extra “thrust” once RPM is high enough, to lock the clutch arms more firmly into the bell.
-
This system means the clutch doesn’t just rely on centrifugal force; it also uses engine torque to generate more grip pressure.
-
Performance / Advantages
-
Stronger Clutch Engagement: Because of the second “thrust” mechanism, the clutch can grip the bell more firmly, reducing slippage under load.
-
Improved Throttle Response: Engagement is more solid and quick, so acceleration feels sharper. Better for Climbing / Overtaking: With higher grip, it’s good when going uphill or when you need to accelerate hard.
-
Tunable: Comes with multiple sets of springs (both clutch springs and pillow springs), so you can tune when exactly the “thrust” mechanism kicks in by changing pillow spring stiffness.
-
Better Efficiency & Less Heat: Because slippage is reduced, there’s less wasted energy and less heat buildup.
